A Weekend to Remember

My oh my oh my. It's been too long since I've done a post! So I will cram as much as I can into this one. A couple of quick praises- I was recently promoted twice at my job! Woot! I am now an advisor in the residential department as well as a 1:1 specialist. And Martin took my old job as an assistant! Pretty awesome stuff happening in the Ross household. Marty also just finished his midterms this week.

So my two best friends Hilary and Jami came to visit last week! It was so awesome to have them come see Massachusetts and all the awesomeness around it. We traveled around Amherst, Northampton, Hadley, South Hadley, Boston and the Cape. Here is our week in pictures.

We went to Northampton the first night and shopped and went to the Tunnel Bar, which yes, is a tunnel that has a bar in it. It was awesome.

  tunnel bar blurry sorry

Our first night in boston was awesome. We at at Legal Seafood. We had lobster, oysters, shrimp, and squid. Look at that 4 lb lobster! It was huge.

The next day in Boston we shopped at the markets and...yah mostly shopped.

Then we headed to Cape Cod! The ocean was awesome to see once again. I'm gonna take this next sentence to express my extreme loathing for my upstairs neighbors right now. If I did not have the Holy Spirit living in me I do not know what would happen to them. We also found a cool lobster claw.

The downtown area was really cute as well. We found an outdoor restaurant and Ben and Jerry's.

And then we headed home! It was an awesome week and I'm so blessed they could come out. I wish I could write more, but I am behind on emails and I'm working 70 hours this week due to the quick transition AND I have to get up at 6 am to take my med test tomorrow!! Big day.

Candy Pills

So for those of you that actually read this thing, sorry I have not updated in a while!! I have been working like crazy and taking a med passing class and etc etc etc. I'll stop rambling about it and start writing about it. Ready, set, go!

Ok so work has just been hands down amazing. I absolutely am in LOVE with my job. This week I got my certification in passing meds- which was the only part of my week that was not fun. I had to wake up at 6 in the morning, walk a mile to the bus stop, ride the bus for 40 minutes to work, then take a car to the city where the class was which was an hour away, stay there for 4 hours and then take the hour car ride back, work until 10 pm, ride the 40 minute bus back, and then walk a mile down the country road in the middle of the night and REPEAT for four days. Keep in mind during this whole ordeal I was so sick that I was vomiting, had a runny nose, sore throat, headache, etc. BUT I GOT THROUGH THE WEEK! And work is so fun that I don't even care. And the meds we passed in class were candy. Who doesn't love candy?

yes please

This week we went walked around the botanical gardens at Smith College in Northampton. The botanical gardens are a series of greenhouses that have a lot of unique plants inside. I think I was more excited than anyone in the group. It was so beautiful and the kids had such a great time. Look at these cool plants!

The kids had a great time too! Field trips are the best part of the weekend. We are always going somewhere really fun and educational.

Marty and I also spend the other day walking around Mount Holyoke College, which is right by my work. I met a stork-bird-thing and named him Oswald. We then walked around the town and enjoyed the cute-quaint-ness? of it.

Sorry I guess this post has a ton of pictures in it. I'll do some talking now I guess. Unfortunately, all I have really done this week is work and sleep. Today is the first day where I have NOTHING to do and I plan on sitting in my robe and watch Netflix and take 3 naps. Then tomorrow I have another big week of work! Which means money. Which means fun things like Boston trips with my best friends next week. And corgis. Which means I forgot...

Corgi Yin Yang!

I had about 40 pics of the corgis but I decided to spare you all until they get really cute. They will be 3 weeks old tomorrow and their eyes just opened this weekend. Ok no more dog talk.

Some things you could pray for us would be that Martin will do well on his upcoming mid-terms. I can't believe he has midterms already. Also that my health will continue to thrive and not tank. Also- to all of you who send us letters and care packages- THANK YOU so much! We love love love getting mail! It makes me feel like I have friends. I don't have friends.

Johannah

P.S.  We'll officially be back in Nebraska for Christmas break! Huzzah!
